Due to continued growth, we currently have several vacancies available to support and work alongside our senior engineers in our modern engine build workshops.

The successful candidates will be focused with a keen eye for attention to detail and able to maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship. You will be experienced in this industry and possess the ability to work alone or in partnership with other members of the team as required.

You will possess an understanding of engine fundamentals and engine characteristics whilst being fully experienced in the practice of working on high performance engines at a highly professional level.

Experienced Engine Builder

The successful candidate will be focused with a keen eye for attention to detail and able to maintain a consistently high standard when building performance ICE engines. You will be experienced in this industry and possess the ability to work alone or in partnership with other members of the team as required. JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete disassembly and rebuild of high- performance internal combustion engines.

You will be required to:
• Have previous engine building experience.
• Be confident in taking on a complete engine strip and rebuild to a very high standard.
• Possess an in-depth knowledge & understanding of engine characteristics.
• Possess the ability to calculate cam/ignition timing, compression ratios etc.
• Be familiar with using specialist tooling required for measuring/inspection.
• Read & understand technical drawings.
• PC literate.
• Capable of developing a build book/report writing.
Must have own tools and transport.

Experienced Parts and Office Administrator

Nicholson McLaren Engines have a full-time vacancy for an experienced parts & office administrator to support their parts department and daily office functions for our engine build shop.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in the motorsport or automotive industry, they will be conscientious and proactive, have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable working individually or as part of a small team.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role is mostly office based however there maybe occasional driving required to visit clients or suppliers.

Key responsibilities of this position will include:
Stock Control – order planning, placing orders with suppliers, controlling stock inventory, controlling stock levels, picking & processing parts for in house projects, limited amount of retail sales.

Maintaining risk assessments and health and safety procedures.

You will also be required to support daily office functions that include – admin support, data processing, liaising with clients and suppliers via telephone / email.

This is a full-time position working a 40-hour week.

• The candidate must have a flexible approach to work.
• Numeric accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.
• Computer Literacy with experience in Word, Excel & Parts/Component Software.

Experienced Aviation Piston Engine Builder

THE COMPANY
Located south of Reading in Berkshire – Nicholson Mclaren Aviation are a leading UK General Aviation Engine Maintenance facility specialising in engines manufactured by Lycoming or Continental.

Since being established in 2006 the company has seen steady growth, we have professionally equipped facilities that provide our technicians with the capability of carrying out most aspects of an engine rebuild – in house.

Nicholson McLaren are looking for new member to join our team – you must be experienced in working on automotive or aviation piston engines, be a proactive, conscientious, talented individual with a keen eye for detail and happy to work in this safety critical industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This job will be suited to a car or aviation mechanic looking for a new role where you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and overhauls on 4 & 6 cylinder air cooled piston engines as briefly described below:
• Engine Types “Boxer Configuration” Flat 4 & 6 cyl.
• Normally Aspirated & Turbo.
• Support Dyno Engine Testing.
• Responsible for ensuring paperwork/documentation is completed within the scope of our MOE and EASA 145 approval.
• You will be required to ensure that your work complies with mandated aviation regulations. •

Full Training will be provided.
This is a full-time position working a 40-hour week.

• Previous piston engine building experience is essential.
• You must be happy working as part of a small team.
• You must have a keen eye for attention to detail.
• You will be willing to carry out ad hoc duties if required.
• You must be conscientious and possess excellent communication skills.
